Columbia, it’s the state capital, is a commercial and industrial city with many interesting places to visit such as the Columbia Museum of Art, the State House, the Governor’s Mansion, the Riverbanks Zoological Park and Botanical Garden.
Charleston is one of the most important cities in South Carolina it is located roughly at the mid-point of South Carolina's coastline, and is full of great places to visit. One in particular that everyone loves to view is The Old Exchange and Customs House in downtown Charleston, which is considered to be one of the major colonial buildings in U.S. Every year thousands come for the Wildlife Exposition in February, the Cooper River Bridge Run and the women’s Family Circle Cup tennis tournament in the spring, and the Spoleto Festival in May and June.
The Historic sites of the Old South have been carefully preserved and draw many sightseers. Two sites with similar attractions that are located near Charleston are: the Boone Hall Plantation, including the original slave quarters, formal gardens and famous drive bordered by trees planted in 1743, and the Middleton Place Gardens, House and Plantation Stable yards.
