The climate of Ohio is a humid continental climate throughout most of the state, except in the extreme southern counties of Ohio's Bluegrass region which are located on the northern part of the humid subtropical climate and Upland South region of the United States. Summers are hot and humid throughout the State, while winters are generally cold.
Ohio is a major producer of machines, tires and rubber products, steel, processed foods, tools, and other manufactured goods. Ohio specializes in capital goods (goods used to make other goods): such as machine tools, automobile parts, industrial chemicals, and plastic moldings. Ohio's agricultural outputs are soybeans, dairy products, corn, tomatoes, hogs, cattle, poultry, and eggs. Its industrial outputs are transportation equipment, fabricated metal products, machinery, food processing, and electrical equipment.
