Geographically, the state is made of forests, dunes, and several mountain regions. Based on its formation, it can also be considered the narrowest of all the states. It also has several man made lakes, but no natural lakes, which is very much a formation oddity. Its plant life is also very unique and has many different types of lawn grass.
It has a variety of climates and can also be susceptible to tropical cyclones due to its costal position.
Maryland ranks as the 2nd most wealthy state in the U.S. It has an average home income of $61,592. One primary source of work can be found in science and science technology. It is home to the Johns Hopkins University, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.
In 2004, its gross national product was figured at $228 billion. It handles a lot of fishing component production and also tourism in the form of fishing, hunting, and wildlife camping. Agriculturally speaking, the state also does well in the producing of watermelon, cucumber, tomatoes, and sweet corn.
Maryland has a well founded transportation system. Its largest airport is the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. It also has several utilized train, subway, and bus systems.
