Physically and psychologically, Hawaii stands apart from the USA, with an ethnically diverse population and a rich Polynesian heritage. It is ranked as the 43rd biggest state in the USA. It has an estimated population of 1,211,537 making it the 42nd most populated state in the USA.
Hawaii has two official state languages: English and Hawaiian. English is the language commonly employed by the state, business and education. However, Japanese is also becoming a common spoken language there.
Tourism remains Hawaii's leading employer, revenue producer, and growth sector. However, agricultural, aquaculture, manganese nodule mining, and film and television production have broadened the state's economic base. Industrial exports from Hawaii include food processing and apparel. Food exports include coffee, macadamia nuts, pineapple, livestock, and sugar cane.
The climate of Hawaii is atypical for a tropical area. For most of Hawaii, there are only two seasons: "summer," between May and October, and "winter," between October and April, nevertheless there is no appreciable difference between ‘summer’ and ‘winter’.
The climate is warm throughout the year with temperatures ranging between 68°F and 85°F and the heaviest rains come from winter storms.
