Colorado, a state in the Rocky Moutan region was the 38th state admitted into the U.S. on Aug 1st, 1876. It has an average population of 4,753,377 (containing the largest proportation of Hispanic residents out of all the states); who, according to statisitcs, make an average of $51,022 per year. Colorado´s population is on the rise, registering almost a 10.5 popultion influx since the year 2000 alone. Possibly one main attraction is its flat income of 4.63% regardless of income level. Colorado has 63 counties, and many cities: the largest which being Denver, the capital of Colorado, which occupies more then 2/3 of Denver´s population. Other bustling Colorado towns include, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Alamosa, and Aspen. Colorado´s main job source is dryland farming and ranching, among various other occupations. It´s main products are cattle, dairy, what, corn, and hay. According to The Bureau of Economic Análisis, the total state product in 2003 was $187 billion.
Colorado is made up of Rocky mountains, its summit of Mount Elbert being the highest point of all the Rocky Moutains at 4401 meters, and the Colorado East Plains. It is also the only state that has a complete elevation of above 1000 meters. It´s high elevation makes it prone to a cool and dry climate, although as the elevation increases the precipitaion does as well. This type of climate can produce many tornados and floods, due not necessarily to rain fall, but to the melting of large quantities of snow.
Colorado has several natural attractions which helps its tourist appeal. It is the home to Pikes Peak, many National Parks, and the Sand Dunes (natural made mountains of sand that encompass an area of 7 by 5 miles), as well as several popular spots for hunting, skiing, hiking, and snow boarding. Colorado is also famous for its Denver Bronco´s Stadium.
